A note and some cautions about farm animals: Sheep and chickens sometimes roam the farm freely and may come up to the house. Take care when animals are around (especially if you have small children), the animals may get scared of something and move or run suddenly. Please Do Not go into animal barns without Jeanmarie or Marci. Lastly, please beware that the wire fences are electric to keep the cows in ....but that said if you see a cow loose call me (609)5482569!
I listed both restaurants in Stockton for convenience as their merit it being close. All restaurants listed are not in any order of preference. Outside of Stockton, I have just picked out restaurants I like but there are SO many in the area so do your own research this can just give you additional info. Again the restaurants listed (outside of stockton) are just ones I go to or know the people who own them and/or they stand out in quality and integrity.
ON THE FARM!
Al La Carte $9-45. Prix Fixe $50 for 4 courses. Re-opening in Fall 2017
Paul and Alida use to work at a restaurant that was my number #1 recommendation for guests. When it closed I was brokenhearted. I am so honored and excited about their opening their own Supper Club here. Please stay tuned!!
$$+ Sicilian style Italian restaurant. BYOB / Dinner. Liquor Store is one door down
$$+ BYOB Brunch / Dinner
You can eat here for less if you choose a small plate and don't order sides..its a la carte. Its close and has decent food. Straight forward although not much charm in the environment. The liquor store is across the street which is really convenient!
This restaurant has a nice mixed menu. If the outside is open its totally child friendly, they have high chairs and are pretty accommodating even if you dine inside. Great desserts and gelato!! This restaurant in right in town and around the corner from the main drag for touristy walking and shopping.
$$ Lunch/Dinner BYOB ~cash only~
Excellent middle eastern food at such a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and the owner is always there and really accommodating.
NEW HOPE, PA
$$$ Vegetarian. BYOB Dinner/Brunch
Do not let the vegetarian label scare you. This is absolutely my second choice of all the restaurants in the area. You won't miss the meat (and I raise beef!). It is great and they can accommodate groups. The food may take a little longer to come out but it is so worth it.
$$ Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (no one brings wine here lol but i think you could if you wanted)
The owners of this little cafe are the sweetest, most genuine hard working couple and I have known them for years. The food is VERY fresh made from scratch and to order. She uses farm fresh eggs and does some local sourcing. They have some beautiful items from France for sale and its right next to the Giant supermarket, Rite aid and liquor store...so if you are going that way do stop in!!!!!!!
$ Lunch /Dinner
Burger and Shake joint...this is an absolute must. The owner is a young man who had a vision of serving locally sourced burgers and followed through. This is a great place to go to after a stroll down Main Street, New Hope, PA which is very touristy and what EVERYONE does who visits the area. So kid friendly to boot.
$$ BYOB. Child Friendly. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
I like this place they do source some of their food from local farmers. (Some imply that they do and don't!) Its close has a nice variety of offerings and really good selection of baked goods! There are a couple of little shops in Frenchtown, much smaller than the Lambertville/New Hope area. It is about a 15 min drive from the farm.
POINT PLEASANT, PA
A beautiful place to dine right on the Delaware River and there is a little general store across the street too. If its a nice day you can park at Bulls Island (see below) and walk across a little foot bridge to the restaurant. If you drive there, you will go through the quaint river town of Point Pleasant and can valet park right in front of the restaurant. They have a champagne brunch on Sundays.
$$$ Dinner 4 course and 5 course with optional wine paring
This is truly a rare, unique and authentic experience. So many restaurants claim to source locally and barely do or hardly do selectively and creatively. This is worth the drive, especially if you go to Princeton earlier in the day for sight seeing.
The Milk House Farm Market @ Tullamore Farms
Our own market. Our Farm raised beef, lamb and eggs. Pork and cheese from our neighboring farmers.
Organic vegetables and olive oil. Food to go. Coffee. Baked Goods. Other vendors. Open Fri 10-6 (limited vendors) Sat 9-4 Sun 10-4
A small convenient store that has sandwiches and some prepared food. Good for emergencies.. if you don't feel like driving to New Hope.
This small liquor store minutes away has a great selection and they are super helpful.
NEW HOPE, PA
24 hours has everything. Liquor store on left. Rite aid pharmacy on right!!
This is a path for walking or riding bikes. The path is right across our driveway entrance on Rt 29 (Daniel Bray Highway). Enter to the left of the four mailboxes. Make note of where you have entered (when there is full foliage sometimes people forget where to exit to get back to the farm )!
This preserve is at the OTHER end of the farm so take a right from your house and go up our long and bumpy lane past our own cemetery (feel free to stop and take a look) until you reach Raven Rock Road. Take a right and the preserve is on your left.
You can park here and have a picnic, walk across or launch a canoe/kayak. If walking the foot bridge goes to Point Pleasant which has a general store and nice fancy restaurant and up further a bit a cellar bar called The Local !
Bike rentals -Pure Energy Cycle Shop
Canoe, Kayak Rental, Tube rental: The closest is River Country in Point Pleasant PA for going along the Delaware River (Please see the Bulls Island information above for launch and DAY PERMIT you may need to purchase during the season. For easier canal boating with beginners or young children there is also Princeton Canoe & Kayak (about 45 mins away).
